When I was invited by our President, Blair O. Rogers, to write the early history of the ISAPS and to also present a summary at the XII Congress in Paris(1), I accepted with pleasure as I had already corrected an initial report written by Mario Gonzalez-Ulloa (2,3), I also presented a report about at the 1985 Congress in Madrid(4), and, as Co-Chairman and Chairman of the Education Council, I proposed to the Executive Committee to write the 20 (or 25) year history of the ISAPS(5,6). I thought that I was entitled to do so, since I had participated at the first meeting in Sao Paulo  in October 1-4, 1969, in the foundation of the Society and thereafter, up to 1992, in almost all the meetings of the Executive Committee.
