Hymenoplasty can be performed from simple techniques that include a simple suture of the hymenal vestiges to the use of procedures that can include flaps of the vaginal mucosa. Suturing in three planes is recommended to avoid dehiscence and ensure a hymenal orifice of less than 1cm through which the woman can menstruate until her first sexual intercourse after surgery.
Ensure you consider all aspects of a procedure. You can speak to your surgeon about these areas of the surgery in more detail during a consultation.
Hymenoplasty takes between 60-90 minutes depending on whether it is performed with combined procedures or not.
For better results and more comfort, local anesthesia and light sedation is the rule for a hymenoplasty. However, local anesthesia, general anesthesia or pudendal blockage may be chosen.
After the hymenoplasty, the patient can leave the surgical facility the same day after recovery from anesthesia.
More information will be added shortly.
