Regain a youthful look of the forehead and brows using a specialised tube
With a similar purpose to a classic forehead lift, an endoscopic forehead lift uses a specialised tube called an endoscope with 3-5 short scalp incisions less than 1 inch. The end of the tubes has a small camera for the surgeon to manipulate inner tissues with small access. With another tool, the forehead is lifted, excess tissues are then removed, and muscles are aligned. Non-smokers in their 40s-60s, who are generally healthy will be very suitable for this procedure. Preparation may include a detailed history of medical history and medications, physical examination, smoking cessation, antiplatelet and anticoagulant withdrawal for about one week before surgery.
Ensure you consider all aspects of a procedure. You can speak to your surgeon about these areas of the surgery in more detail during a consultation.
The procedure approximately takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour.
General anesthesia, intravenous sedation, are local anesthesia are options.
This is most often an outpatient procedure.
Several conditions may apply after the procedure:
A thin tube may be inserted for one to two days to drain the excess blood or fluid. A light pressure dressing on the head will be applied for several days after the surgery. Avoid showering for the first 2-3 days. Patients should sleep with their head up for a couple of nights. Stitches may be removed after 7-10 days of surgery. The resolution of bruising and swelling may vary up until 2 weeks. It takes about 7-10 days for a full recovery and return to work. Strenuous activity should be discontinued until at least 3 weeks after the surgery. Sun exposure should be limited to avoid hyperpigmentation during the first three to six months after the procedure.
Immediate results can be seen postoperatively, but some patients may see the best results in 1-3 weeks. Patients should pay attention to the instructions after surgery for maximum results. Long-term results are usually permanent.
