Cosmetic surgery specialty in surgeons. Such proficiency can only be achieved through experience and proper guidance. Having a mentor to guide and lead helps aspiring cosmetic surgeons to not only hone their skills but also excel in their chosen field. I started practicing 16 years ago and for last 10 years aesthetic surgery is my area of focus. This has been an enlightening journey, but I learned my lesson and earned my accolades with much difficulty. Absence of an experienced, skilled and qualified mentor can hamper the progress a surgeon could make. A mentorship program for aspiring cosmetic surgeons in India is sorely lacking.

By being able to guide surgeons under the aegis of ISAPS is my way of giving back to the society. My having mentored 35 junior surgeons in the last decade attests to the fact that I love teaching. I hope that my mentoring would give them the much-required direction and boost to kick- start their career. At the same time this would also help us meet the surging need of able cosmetic surgeons in India.
